Duration of Bachelor’s In Hong Kong: The Bachelor’s degree programs are offered in almost every subject. The duration of the Bachelors course is 2 years to 3 years. The admission requirements vary from program to program Students after their 10th or 12th are eligible to apply for the bachelor degree in Private institutes
Intakes in Hong Kong: On a general note there are two intakes in Hong Kong – January and September out of which September is their biggest intake. Most of the programs are available during this term. Indian students can also apply for this term since final marks of most students arrive around June. You can apply early and get conditional admission letter and then update your final university with the score your receive
Fee Structure: The fee range for pursuing Master’s in Hong Kong may range from HKD 130,000 to HKD 150,000/- depending upon the Institution and the course applied.
Work Experience for Bachelor’s in Hong Kong: No work experience is required for pursuing bachelor’s in Hong Kong
SAT Requirement: In general, SAT is not required to apply to Universities in Hong Kong. Certain Universities however will need SAT and SAT II Subject Test (with Math Level 2 being compulsory) for students based on the student profile and program requirements
English Language Requirement: One must have a recognized English language qualification such as IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum score that is accepted for entry is IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT80.The test could be done within one month from the date you decide to take the test ie. preparing for the test, registering for the test, to appearing for it. Work in Hong Kong during studies: Initially the student visa issued in Hong Kong was for the sole purpose of studies only. In shorts international students were not allowed to take up part time work. However, this restriction was relaxed in case of full-time students whose study period is not less than one year. From 2008/09 onwards students are allowed study related internships, campus jobs or summer jobs. The students (excluding exchange students) may take up:
- Part-time on-campus employment for not more than 20 hours per week throughout the year
- Employment during the summer months without any limit
